Colin Smith Appointed Senior Coach |
|
Former Apollo goalkeeper Colin Smith has been appointed senior coach at Centrals.
Smith grew up in Adelaide where he played for Ingle Farm in the amateur league.
For the past three years Smith has been playing at Apollo and coaching the club’s under 17 side.
“I have a varied style of coaching,” Smith said.
“I have taken away bits and pieces from my previous coaches, including Derek Ferguson at Apollo, and will incorporate it into my own style.
“We will play a very disciplined game on and off the field.
“I want the boys coming off the field feeling they have given 100pc — that is the most I can do.
“I want them to play a very fast flowing game creating movement on and off the play to maintain possession of the ball for the majority of the game.”
Smith is looking forward to working with a young squad. Most players are between 18 – 21 years old, with the two eldest in A grade being 30 and 26. |
